“I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.” The so called “populism” has led to an ongoing tendency of (re)nationalization of societies. In this seminar we want to investigate how (national) identities are constructed and which implications result from them. Through a “qualitative” approach the processes of identity construction shall be highlighted and made comprehensible. This seminar will entail the practical usage of such technics.
